Privacy policy

• Contact form and email: name, email address, phone number (optional) and the content of your message.
• Technical data: when you visit the website, the servers delivering it record your IP address, browser type and which pages were requested. This is necessary to deliver the site and protect it against abuse.
• Ad measurement (only if you consent): cookies from Google that record whether you arrived at the website via one of our ads, and what you do on the site afterwards, for example whether you get in touch.

We only use data from the contact form and email to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, follow up on an assignment. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)), or that processing is necessary to enter into a contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)).

Technical data is processed based on our legitimate interest in running a secure and stable website (Art. 6(1)(f)).

We use ad measurement to see which ads work. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) and section 3-15 of the Norwegian Electronic Communications Act), which you can withdraw at any time.

Enquiries are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted, unless they form part of a client relationship or we are required to keep them longer, for example under accounting law.

Technical logs are kept briefly by our provider and deleted automatically.

Ad measurement cookies are stored in your browser for up to 90 days.

We never sell personal data. We use the following providers (data processors), who only process data on our behalf:

• Vercel Inc. – website hosting.
• Google (Gmail) – delivery of messages from the contact form.
• Google (Google Ads) – ad measurement, only if you consent.
• Domeneshop AS – email.
• Sanity – content management and delivery of images on the website.

Vercel, Google and Sanity may process data outside the EEA, including in the USA. Such transfers comply with the GDPR through the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

Fortolker.no only uses cookies if you consent. We then use the Google Ads tag (gtag.js) to measure the effect of our ads. It sets cookies such as _gcl_au, which are stored for up to 90 days.

If you decline, the Google tag is not loaded and no cookies are set. Your choice is stored locally in your browser, so we do not ask again every time.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the “Cookies” link at the bottom of the page.

You have the right to:

• access the data we hold about you
• have inaccurate data corrected
• have your data deleted
• object to or request restriction of processing
• receive your data in a portable format

Send an email to hei@fortolker.no and we will normally respond within 24 hours. If you believe we process personal data in breach of the rules, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (datatilsynet.no).
